Inkjet transfer paper and its counterparts are wondrous innovations that make the job of doing prints on several kinds of surfaces a convenient, economical and efficient process. It is suitable for use in transferring prints on countless surfaces such as shirts, jackets, caps and other craft materials. It’s low cost and convenient transfer methods makes it a viable alternative to other printing processes such as silk screen printing. Different surfaces are best handled by a particular type of heat transfer paper. Fabrics for example, are suitable for inkjet heat transfer paper.

As a popular kind of paper in the process of heat transfer, inkjet heat transfer paper is in wide spread use today for t-shirt printing purposes. They are available in dual variations depending on the type of fabric used. Inkjet heat transfer paper for textiles that are darker in color and ones that are suitable for textiles which are white in color which is transparent in appearance. Those that are suited for darker colors are the easiest one to use because unlike the others, it can be set easily during application. Basically, it’s transferred as a print exactly as shown on the paper. White color textiles on the other hand must be applied on the surface with the thought in mind that white areas are unprintable and that this color must be rendered by the white color of the textile itself. Washing is also a tricky maneuver when it comes to textile printed via inkjet heat transfer paper. If you wish to have the fabric and its prints last longer, you would have to carefully follow the washing instructions specified to avoid damaging it.

A second kind of heat transfer paper is also available on the market today although its use is only limited to white or lighter colored fabrics unlike the inkjet heat transfer paper. This is known as the dry sublimation heat transfer paper which is used along with a mixture of sublimation ink. One notable advantage that it has compared to its counterparts is the fact that it eliminates the need for drying once the print is transferred. The ink is capable of changing into gas immediately once the print is made making it suitable for use in situations in which quick drying prints are favored. This method works best with polyester or any material that involves half of its composition.

Laser printer heat transfer papers are also making an appearance on the market although not as common as the other two. This is probably due to the fact that laser printers are highly complicated and expensive equipment. Thus not everyone would employ its use in addressing their printing needs. Nevertheless, this new technology has had several successes and is capable of higher quality compared to the common inkjet heat transfer paper.

These heat transfer paper gives many people the means to print on many materials that were hard to achieve under conventional means. Many manufacturers are even switching to these methods due to its low cost while achieving prints that are comparable in quality thus allowing them to churn out more profits. This makes them very much popular today and further developments will surely solidify its place in the industry and the fact that heat transfer papers are here to stay.
